Card Kingdom and Ctrl Shift VFX teamed up to create a memorable experience for the Magic The Gathering fan base. What's better than a Twitch game show featuring 5 MTG mega influencers? A well planned graphic layout highlighted the mini games, the people and the audience. Perhaps the most complicated part of this project was that the mini games still being fleshed out and changed while the art was in development, so we had to stay agile and hold off sections to await more details on what's to come.
Our directions were "We want something like Adventure Time meets Rocko's Modern Life. Something tongue-in-cheek, playing off the silliness of this game."
We had to nail down the style before we brought anything into the digital editing software. Our team sketched a few options for locations, characters and player UIs.
Once the style was fleshed out, we split our team to work on sections of the graphics. The game show was quickly approaching and we needed everything ready a week prior for live testing.
The launch was an success. With a peak of 270 viewers and all positive reactions to the talent and the art style, it was a 25th anniversary tribute to be proud of. Fans instantly requested more episodes of the game show.
